Trekking to the Nuragic village of Tiscali is a unique opportunity to venture out to discover the mystery kept in this place for more than 3000 years.
Walking in the woods of the Lanaitho valley, the trek follows the steep limestone cliffs of Monte Tiscali and continues walking on the paths traced by charcoal burners in the 19th century.
Traveling along the karst sinkhole which originated 900,000 years ago due to the collapse of the rocky vault of the ancient cave, we finally arrive at the mysterious Village of Tiscali built by the Nuragic civilization (between 1800 and 238 BC).
Do not miss the passage through the narrow rocky fissure called “Sa Curtigia”, the suggestive fissure in the rock from which you then arrive at the mythical village of Tiscali. From this new perspective we can admire the treasures of the Lanaitho Valley and the entire Corrasi chain.
From a botanical point of view, the special microclimate of the sinkhole has allowed the growth inside of rare plant species such as terebinths, trefoil maple and ash. Among the fauna, on the other hand, we recognize the Mediterranean marten, and the equally characteristic mouflon, among the most representative animals of the island, which can sometimes be seen even inside the sinkhole during the cold Supramonte nights.
Trekking to Monte Tiscali is one of the favorite trekking excursions of Sardinian trekkers and hikers, as well as one of the most sought-after trekking experiences by travelers from all over the world.
